Ukraine brought back 175 POWs from Russian captivity, as well as 22 severely wounded defenders.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Censor.NET reports.

Today is another day when Ukraine brings its own back. 175 of our defenders have been released from Russian captivity. Another 22 defenders are returning home thanks to measures outside of formal exchanges. Among them are the severely wounded and soldiers whom Russia persecuted for fabricated crimes. All of them will immediately receive the necessary medical and psychological assistance.

This is one of the largest exchanges. Our soldiers, sergeants and officers are returning. Soldiers who fought for our freedom in the Armed Forces, Navy, National Guard, Territorial Defence Forces and Border Guard. They defended Ukraine in different areas - in Mariupol, at Azovstal, in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy and Kursk regions," the statement reads.

Zelenskyy thanked the team involved in the search for Ukrainian prisoners and exchanges, as well as all partners, especially the UAE.
