We must be ready to react quickly if Ukraine peace deal struck – Starmer
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that it is important that Britain and its allies are able to react immediately if a peace agreement is concluded between Russia and Ukraine.
According to Censor.NET, citing Reuters, Starmer said this on board a nuclear submarine on the day when military leaders from dozens of countries are meeting in Britain to discuss planning for the possible deployment of peacekeeping forces in Ukraine.
"(Our - Ed.) plans are focused on securing Ukraine's skies, sea and border, as well as working with Ukrainians," Starmer said.
He also emphasized that the work continues "at pace" because it is not known whether an agreement will be concluded.
"I certainly hope that it will be concluded, and if there is a deal, it's really important that we're able to react straight away," Starmer added.
