If peace is achieved, focus of funding for Ukraine will shift to reconstruction – Dombrovskis

If a sustainable peace agreement with Russia is reached, the European Union will re-plan its assistance to Ukraine.
This was stated in Kyiv by European Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis, Censor.NET reports citing European Pravda.
He noted that it is primarily important for the European Union that we talk about a just and lasting peace, in which there is no danger of a new attack on Ukraine.
"But if there is a truce or a peace agreement, it will definitely affect planning. Obviously, the focus will shift from current military assistance to recovery and reconstruction," Dombrovskis added.
At the same time, he assured that the decision will be made in a form that meets Ukraine's request.
According to Dombrovskis, the EU is ready for flexibility - adjustments, if necessary, may also affect the assistance already planned for 2025.
"From the EU side, we are ready to adjust our funding, both in the context of reducing or stopping further US military assistance and in the context of progress on the issue of a ceasefire or a peace agreement," the European Commissioner said.
