Poland will start strengthening its border with Russia and Belaru

The Polish government has announced plans to strengthen patrols on the Polish-Belarusian border due to the growing number of hybrid threats.

According to Censor.NET, citing Yevropeiska Pravda, this was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration Tomasz Siemianiak.

The Polish government plans to increase patrolling of the Polish-Belarusian border by another 1500 border guards. They are to be deployed in the areas of the border that are considered to be the most at risk in terms of illegal migration and hybrid threats.

According to the minister, the first 500 additional border guards will be involved in patrolling this year, and another thousand - next year.

Earlier it was reported that Poland plans to place anti-personnel mines on the border with Russia and Belarus as part of the Eastern Shield program.

Lithuania also stated that it plans to mine the border with Russia and Belarus.
