There can be no easing of sanctions while war is on - Sybiha

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that there can be no easing of sanctions while Russia's aggression against Ukraine continues.
According to Censor.NET, citing Ukrinform, this was stated by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
According to the minister, during the talks, the parties separately touched upon the issue of strengthening sanctions against Russia.
"We share the position that pressure on the aggressor must be maintained and increased. Moscow will engage in deception, not negotiations, until it feels real power - diplomatic, military, and sanctions. There can be no easing of pressure as long as Russian aggression continues," Sybiha explained.
Russia is an existential threat to Europe, and defense against it is a common goal of Europeans and Ukrainians, the Foreign Minister said.
"Ukraine has proven that it is not an obstacle to peace. Now Russia has to show by concrete actions, not manipulations, its real desire to end the war. Otherwise, it will be necessary to increase pressure on Moscow," he added.
As a reminder, following the talks with the United States in Saudi Arabia, Russia put forward a number of demands for the lifting of sanctions to declare a ceasefire in the Black Sea.
