Now is not time to lift sanctions against Russia – Macron

Macron opposes lifting sanctions against Russia until the war is over

French President Emmanuel Macron is against lifting sanctions against Russia.

He said this at a press conference following a meeting of the "coalition of the willing," Censor.NET reports citing Sky News.

"There can be no lifting of sanctions before peace is established," the French leader emphasized.

Macron also added that the "coalition of the willing" aims to "maintain economic pressure on the shadow fleet (of Russia - Ed.) and on some industrial facilities."

As a reminder, following the talks with the United States in Saudi Arabia, Russia put forward a number of demands for lifting sanctions to declare a ceasefire in the Black Sea.
