Germany will provide Ukraine with air defense systems, drones and radars in coming months – Baerbock

Annalena Baerbock

Germany will soon transfer a new batch of weapons to Ukraine, which will include air defense systems and drones.

This was stated by acting German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"In the coming months, we will provide Ukraine with additional air defense systems, guided missiles, drones and radars... We know that true peace does not come through surrender. Those who put pressure on Ukraine to surrender are not negotiating peace, but another escalation.

A ceasefire on Putin's terms would not be the end of the war, but a prelude to the next offensive... Our response to Putin's war is peace through strength. Peace through European unity and determination," Baerbock said.

She also emphasized that without peace, European sanctions will not be lifted.

Baerbock called the EU Commission's proposal for a European defense industry an important signal. She is convinced that the creation of the European Defense Union is a matter of time. It is not only about better coordinated and enhanced armaments, but also about the political ability to act.

"If individual members are blocking this and, above all, the accession negotiations with Ukraine and delaying sanctions packages, it shows us that we must now have the courage to reform the decision-making process in the European Union. Towards a qualified majority, towards a greater ability to act and therefore towards common security," Baerbock said.
