Ukraine is ready to open first cluster of negotiations on EU accession - Sybiha

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that the country is ready to start the first cluster of negotiations on joining the European Union.
He said this at a joint press conference with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.
"An important topic of the talks was Ukraine's integration into the European Union and NATO. We appreciate the support of Minister Burbank on this path. Ukraine is already ready to open the first cluster of negotiations on accession to the EU. We are working to make this happen as soon as possible," Sybiha said.
Separately, Sybiha thanked Germany for a new aid package worth 3 billion euros. It includes air defense systems, artillery, drones, armored vehicles, and demining equipment. The Minister emphasized that these resources will "save Ukrainian lives."
The foreign minister also emphasized that Germany has allocated more than 8 billion euros for the next few years, which will allow Ukraine to sign new contracts with German defense companies. According to him, such decisions strengthen the security of Ukraine, Germany and the whole of Europe.
"I am grateful to the German people and all the democratic forces that worked to achieve these decisions. We are confident that Germany's support will be maintained and strengthened in the years to come, and we appreciate this true German reliability," he said.
