Putin invites Xi to May 9 Victory Day celebrations in Moscow - Russian media

Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit Moscow to take part in the Victory Day celebrations.
This was reported by the Interfax news agency, citing Putin's words during a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Censor.NET reports.
"I would like to ask you to convey my friendly greetings to the President of the People's Republic of China, my good friend Mr. Xi Jinping. We are waiting for him in Russia on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, in the Second World War. We will celebrate this anniversary together, both the victory over Nazi Germany and the victory over militaristic Japan," Putin said.
According to him, a "good and rich" visit program will be prepared for the Chinese leader. The Russian president also expressed hope that Xi Jinping's visit would not only be symbolic, but would also allow for a discussion of bilateral relations and cooperation in international organizations, including the UN, SCO, and BRICS.
"We want to express our satisfaction with the way our relations are developing," Putin concluded.
As a reminder, the day before, the French newspaper Le Point wrote that US President Donald Trump might visit Moscow on May 9 at the invitation of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
Later, U.S. President Donald Trump said he had no plans to travel to Russia on May 9.
Later, it became known that self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Presidents of Tajikistan and Azerbaijan Emomali Rahmon and Ilham Aliyev were planning to arrive in Moscow on May 9.
