Europe must step up as US focuses on Asia, says Rutte

Europe should "step up" as the United States focuses on Asia. At the same time, the United States has no plans to withdraw troops from Europe.
This was stated by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte during a conversation with journalists in Brussels on the eve of a two-day meeting of NATO foreign ministers, Bloomberg reports, Censor.NET informs.
"For the United States, it is clear that over time, they want to focus more and more on this part of the world (Asia - ed.). So it is logical for Europe to become even more active," Rutte said.
He also added that the United States is "committed to NATO."
