Czech initiative has enough funds to send ammunition to Ukraine by September - Lipavsky

Jan Lipavsky on supply of ammunition to Ukraine

Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky said in Brussels that the Czech initiative on ammunition for Ukraine guarantees supplies until September.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported by Ukrinform.

"The fact is that we were able to secure funding, so this initiative now has enough funds to send ammunition to Ukraine on a monthly basis until September," Lipavsky said.

He emphasized that the Czech initiative reduces the effectiveness of Russian artillery "by 500 percent." He explained that thanks to the ammunition purchased under the initiative, the ratio was reduced from 1:10 (in favor of the Russian army) to 1:2.

Lipavsky emphasized that the Czech initiative is in no way in conflict with the European Commission's initiative for 2 million munitions.

The foreign minister also said that the Czech industry sent 1.5 million rounds of ammunition to Ukraine last year, half a million of which were large caliber.

Earlier, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said that as part of the Czech initiative, Ukraine could receive an amount of ammunition in 2025 that would be equal to the amount supplied in 2024.
