NATO countries are moving towards increasing defense spending - Baerbok

NATO countries are on the way to increasing their defense spending to more than 3% of their economic output.
According to Censor.NET, with reference to European Pravda, Annalena Baerbok said this at a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels.
"The NATO Secretary General has made it clear that we are now on the path (of defense spending) of more than 3% of GDP by all Europeans through additional commitments - from Germany, but also from many other countries - and that we will continue to move together on this path," Baerbok said.
She noted that this strengthens not only European security but also the security of the transatlantic space and emphasized that NATO states stand for their freedom "not only with words, but also with actions."
Recently, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte spoke about his expectations for the upcoming NATO summit decision on the growth of the Alliance's defense spending. He expects that, based on the results of the assessment, the Alliance's requirements for the expenditures of its member states will increase by at least one and a half times.
