Supporting Ukraine is priority for France

France’s support for Ukraine

In the new geopolitical context, support for Ukraine has been identified as a priority for France, and in 2025, the country is refocusing its strategic priorities on developing international partnerships that are in line with its values and helping those who need it most.

According to Censor.NET, this is stated in the decision of the Council for International Partnerships under the President of France

It is noted that at a time when the main partners are distancing themselves, France, together with its European allies, will continue to speak with a "strong voice" in the international arena.

"France pays special attention to countries affected by crises and conflicts, in particular through humanitarian and reconstruction measures, as well as through support for macro-financial stabilisation. Given the direct threat to Europe, France reaffirms that Ukraine is considered a priority in its enormous support," the document says.

According to it, the new strategic guidelines have been the subject of consultations with civil society and business and are due to be implemented by June.

On 10 April, the defence ministers of the "Coalition of the Willing" will hold a meeting in Brussels. The meeting will be chaired by the heads of the defence ministries of the UK and France, John Healey and Sebastian Lecornu.
