Slovak opposition figure Krupa supports sending peacekeeping contingent to Ukraine

Juraj Krupa, a member of the National Council of Slovakia from the opposition Freedom and Solidarity party, does not rule out the country's participation in an EU peacekeeping mission and criticizes the anti-Ukrainian policy of Prime Minister Robert Fico.
He wrote about this in a blog post on Dennik N, Censor.NET reports.
Krupa said that if his political force returns to power, Bratislava will increase defense spending and take part in military missions in Ukraine either under the EU flag or as part of the Coalition of the Willing.
At the same time, the politician expressed regret that such important EU members as Poland and Germany have stated that they will not participate in a peacekeeping mission.
"This may change, but there are already signs of a different approach in Europe," the Slovak oppositionist said.
He also expressed concern that the ceasefire in Ukraine has not yet been achieved.
"I am convinced that if Europe wants to build its own strengthened defense structure, Ukraine will be an ideal place for this," Krupa emphasized.
The politician is convinced that it is necessary to create a large joint contingent that will require command, logistics and appropriate requirements.
"It is through this baptism by fire that the future backbone of a strengthened European defense must be formed," he added.
