Gazprom to increase gas supplies to Slovakia via Turkish Stream bypassing Ukraine - Reuters

Starting in April 2025, Russian Gazprom will significantly increase gas supplies to Slovakia through the Turkish Stream pipeline.
This was announced by the CEO of the Slovak importer SPP Vojtech Ferenc, Censor.NET reports citing Reuters.
He said that supplies would increase several times, exceeding the previously expected doubling of volumes.
SPP's trading director, Michal Lalik, assured that Slovakia would not have any problems with gas supplies or gas supply to storage facilities. After transit through Ukraine was suspended at the end of 2024, Slovakia received gas from Hungary, which supplies Russian fuel through the Turkish Stream.
At the same time, Bratislava and Budapest are demanding the resumption of gas transit through Ukraine. Slovakia even threatens to veto EU aid to Kyiv if Ukraine does not reconsider its position.
Stopping Russian gas transit
As a reminder, at 07:00 on January 1, 2025, the transportation of Russian natural gas through Ukraine was stopped in the interests of national security.
The Cabinet of Ministers said that Ukraine had duly informed the European Commission about the termination of gas transit. European countries are prepared.
Slovakia's Prime Minister Robert Fico has also previously threatened to stop exporting electricity to Ukraine and significantly reduce support for Ukrainian refugees in response to the cessation of Russian gas transit through Ukrainian territory.
Recently, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a "beggar and blackmailer."
Earlier it was reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was "obviously mistaken" in hoping that his shadowy schemes with Moscow would exist indefinitely.
