US redeploys its military from key hub of aid to Ukraine in Poland - media

The United States is redeploying its military forces and equipment from Poland's Jasionka Airport, which has served as the main logistics hub for military assistance to Ukraine since 2022.
This is stated in a statement by the US Army Command in Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF), Censor.NET reports citing the EP.
The command emphasized that this decision is part of a long-term strategy to optimize military presence, improve support for allies and increase the efficiency of operations. The redeployment is taking place in coordination with the Polish side and NATO partners.
As noted, despite the redeployment, Yasenka will continue to be an important location for providing military assistance to Ukraine under the leadership of Poland and NATO. Polish President Andrzej Duda emphasized that this is not a withdrawal of U.S. troops, but a regrouping of equipment and personnel.
American forces have been based in Yasenka since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. All this time, the hub has been protected, among other things, by Patriot air defense systems. After the NATO summit in Washington, the Alliance took over responsibility for coordinating assistance to Ukraine under the Ramstein format. To reduce the burden on the United States, additional anti-aircraft systems were deployed to the region from Germany and Norway.
