Problems with payments to wounded soldiers are related to bureaucracy, not lack of funds - Syrskyi

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that difficulties with payments to wounded soldiers are primarily related to bureaucratic procedures, not to a lack of funds.
He said this in an interview with LB.ua, Censor.NET reports.
According to Syrsky, in order to receive payments, a wounded soldier must provide several documents confirming the circumstances of the injury, the degree of its severity, as well as undergo treatment and rehabilitation.
"Although, of course, the list of these documents has been significantly reduced... Therefore, the issue here is not money, the issue is in procedures," he emphasized.
To solve this problem, a vertical patronage service was created - from the brigade level to the General Staff. This has significantly reduced the number of complaints and appeals.
Mr. Syrskyi also spoke about the steps taken to reform recruitment. According to him, the state is using all available tools to attract citizens to serve: in particular, they can sign a contract and choose a unit on their own.
Regarding the inequality of payments between servicemen of different categories (for example, 18-24-year-old contractors and those who are already in the Defense Forces), the Commander-in-Chief noted that this issue will be resolved in the near future - within one to two months.
"We are considering all forms, methods, discussing these issues at the Headquarters to maximize the involvement of those who can fight, and those who have some limitations - to use their capabilities where they can show them, for example, in anti-aircraft units that fight drones, in mobile groups," said Syrsky.
