Europe wants US to give advance warning of US troop withdrawal - Bloomberg

Withdrawal of US troops. What they want in Europe

Europe has called on the United States to coordinate any plans to reduce its military presence on the continent in order to avoid destabilizing NATO's defense.

This is reported by Bloomberg, Censor.NET reports.

Thus, according to sources, Europe has already accepted that the Trump administration is likely to decide to withdraw some US troops from some Eastern European countries.

Europeans fear that due to the unpredictable changes caused by Trump, they will not be warned in advance of such decisions. They can only learn about the withdrawal of thousands of American troops through the media.

Therefore, Europe wants the U.S. to commit to giving advance notice of any withdrawal plans.

"The main message from the US was that European allies need time to prepare for a reduced US presence," said one diplomat.

At the same time, European officials are trying to convince the United States of the importance of its military presence on the continent.

One of them said he wanted to convey to the United States that U.S. troops in Europe create political power.

Currently, the exact number of troops and locations covered by the withdrawal are not yet known, but it could be about 20,000 US troops who were sent to Eastern Europe after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.

Earlier, it was reported that the United States was withdrawing its military from a key hub of assistance to Ukraine in Poland.

According to NBC, the United States may withdraw up to 10,000 troops from Eastern Europe.
