Over 2,000 residents remain in Pokrovsk, civilian burials are being recorded in yards - RMA

Why is the Russian army trying to capture Pokrovsk?

There are 2,228 people in the frontline Pokrovsk, Donetsk region.

This was reported by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Vadym Filashkin during a telethon, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"The most difficult situation is in the city of Pokrovsk. Every day the enemy is firing not only with FPV drones, but also with guided aerial bombs, cannon artillery, almost all the weapons the occupier has," Filashkin said. According to him, 3,826 people remain in the Pokrovske community, 2,228 of them live in Pokrovsk itself.

The head of the region also confirmed the information about two cases of unauthorized burial of the dead in the yards of residential buildings. According to him, despite the fact that a funeral service operates in the city, the neighbors did not contact the relevant authorities.

"Yes, there have been such cases - there are two such burials now, the neighbors did not contact either the authorities or the police units that are on the spot and perform their direct duties, and, unfortunately, they buried their neighbors on their own," Filashkin said.

Despite the danger, municipal and rescue services are working in the city, including a general practitioner and the Pokrovsk Rescue Service. However, the situation is complicated by the fact that it is currently extremely difficult to bring humanitarian aid to Pokrovsk.

Earlier, it was reported that graves of civilians began to appear in the yards of residential buildings in Pokrovsk.
