Shmyhal on the Association Agreement with the EU

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said that Ukraine has already fulfilled 81% of its obligations under the Association Agreement with the European Union and is seeking to open all six clusters of EU accession negotiations this year.

According to Censor.NET, Shmyhal said this in his telegram channel following the 10th meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council.

"Ukraine has fulfilled 81% of its obligations under the Association Agreement with the EU. The greatest progress has been made in intellectual property, education, information exchange, humanitarian policy, justice, public procurement, and national security. In these and other areas, Ukraine has fulfilled more than 90% of its obligations," the Prime Minister said.

Shmyhal noted that in 2024, Ukraine made particular progress in the customs, healthcare, and finance sectors.

"Once again, we are demonstrating that we are able to go through the path to EU membership quickly and efficiently. Already this year, we aim to open all six clusters in the EU accession negotiations, as well as to deepen sectoral integration," he added.
