Germany faced with "new unpredictability" in US ties, - Pistorius

Germany has faced a "new unpredictability" in its relations with the United States and should take more military leadership in view of the challenges posed by Russia's war against Ukraine.
According to Censor.NET, citing Reuters, this was announced by Defence Minister Boris Pistorius.
A few hours after the German conservatives, led by future German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, signed a coalition agreement, Pistorius said that Germany, under the leadership of the new government, should do more for the security of Europe.
"There is a new unpredictability in our transatlantic relations. The United States keep up their commitment to NATO but they quite rightly demand a stronger European contribution in the alliance," the minister explained.
"We will do this together with our European partners and NATO allies, and we will have to provide significantly more leadership as we go along," Pistorius added.
