Ukraine’s Ministry of Justice hires US law firm

The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has hired the American law firm Hogan Lovells US to defend Kyiv's position during negotiations on a minerals agreement with the United States.

This is reported by Interfax-Ukraine agency with reference to the FARA registry, Censor.NET reports.

It is noted that FARA is a law on the registration of foreign agents, which on April 11 contained information about the registration of this company in the interests of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on April 9.

The registry also indicates that in 2023 this law firm was engaged by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in the interests of Ukraine to help organize an exhibition in the Capitol about Russia's war crimes in Ukraine.

As a reminder, a Ukrainian delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka arrived in the United States on April 11 for technical consultations on the subsoil agreement.

The consultations are expected to last for two days, will be mostly technical and do not involve high-ranking officials.

On April 9, it was reported that the Cabinet of Ministers had allocated UAH 113 million for consulting services to prepare a draft agreement on minerals with the United States, and also instructed to engage consultants immediately.
