US and Russia will not agree on ceasefire in Ukraine by 20 April, - First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russian Federation to UN Polyansky

Poliansky on progress of US-Russia talks

The United States and Russia are unlikely to reach a ceasefire agreement in Ukraine before Easter on 20 April.

According to Censor.NET, citing the Russian media, this was stated by the First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky

"The main reasons are 'Ukraine's lack of negotiating power, its violation of the moratorium on strikes on energy infrastructure, and Donald Trump's desire to achieve a quick ceasefire without a political settlement'," he said.

As a reminder, negotiations on the final achievement of peace in Ukraine cannot be held until a ceasefire is agreed upon.
