We want US to be among participants in foreign military contingent, - Zelenskyy
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed interest in the United States becoming a member of a foreign military contingent.
He said this in an interview with 60 Minutes on CBS, Censor.NET reports.
"We see the United States as our strategic partner. That's the only way we treat it, and even the misunderstandings, I think, are details, but in a general sense, we have an understanding that we are strategic partners - Ukraine and America. That is why we want America to be among such countries (that will be part of the foreign military contingent - Ed.). It can be in one form or another... There can be a contingent, and America can show that they are defending the sky - it can be air defence and aircraft, not necessarily boots on the ground. The question is that these are allied troops: someone on the ground, as I said, someone in the sky, someone at sea," the head of state explained.
Zelenskyy noted that demonstrating this alliance is an important signal for Ukraine and a guarantee of security.
