US wants to achieve a complete ceasefire in Ukraine within weeks - Bloomberg

During a meeting with European partners in Paris, U.S. officials expressed their desire to achieve a full ceasefire in Ukraine within weeks. This is part of a new initiative aimed at ending hostilities in the war, which has been going on for three years.
Bloomberg writes about this, citing sources, Censor.NET reports.
The meetings in Paris, in particular between French President Emmanuel Macron and US Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff, attended by Ukrainian officials, focused mainly on moving to a ceasefire and establishing a lasting peace as soon as possible, the sources said.
The participants told US officials that they fully support President Donald Trump's main goal of ending the war as soon as possible.
The U.S. side indicated that it expects significant progress in the near future, and the participants in Thursday's meeting agreed to work toward that end.
European officials also sought to know what steps the Trump administration plans to take if no progress is made by Putin. They tried to persuade Washington to take a tougher stance against Moscow, in particular by imposing a "wide-ranging" package of sanctions, which Trump said was already under consideration.
