Hundreds of contracts signed under "18–24" program – Ministry of Defense

Volunteer fighters 18-24 took the oath

Hundreds of contracts have already been signed under the "Contract 18–24" volunteer program.

This was announced by Dmytro Lazutkin, spokesperson for Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, according to Censor.NET citing Ukrinform.

"At this point, hundreds of contracts have already been signed. Volunteers have received their first payments, taken the oath, and are now preparing to carry out combat missions," Lazutkin said.

According to him, about 1,500 candidates are currently in the final stage of the selection process. The project is also demonstrating steady growth.

"The number of units is expanding, and the number of positions has doubled. The project has already involved 16 combat brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as brigades of the State Border Guard Service and the National Guard. The list is expanding, new brigades are being involved, and new positions are being created. This allows us to scale up the project and cover a wider range of tasks," added the Defense Ministry spokesman.

As a reminder, enlistment in the Armed Forces of Ukraine for individuals aged 18 to 24 under this program is voluntary. The contracts are signed for a one-year term and include a "motivational component." At the same time, all contract soldiers will serve exclusively in combat roles. Over the course of the one-year contract, volunteers will spend six months performing combat duties on the front line.
