U.S. will walk away if Ukraine or Russia complicates ending war – Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump believes there is a "very good chance" of reaching a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, but said the United States will withdraw from the peace talks if either side "complicates the process."
He said this during a briefing at the White House, Censor.NET reports.
"If for some reason either of the two sides makes it very difficult, we’ll just say, ‘You’re not smart, you’re foolish, you’re horrible people,’ and we’ll just going to take a pass. But I hope that doesn’t happen," he emphasized.
Trump was asked what he expects to see from Ukraine and Russia in the context of peace negotiations.
"My whole life has been one big negotiation, and I know when people are playing us and when they’re not. I need to see enthusiasm to end [the war]. I think I see that enthusiasm — I think I see it from both sides. No one plays me. I’m just trying to help. This is Biden’s war," he added in response to a question about whether he believes the Russians are playing games with the U.S.
According to him, "everything is now reaching a climax."
"We want to save this situation. Two thousand five hundred people are dying in combat every week. It’s a brutal fight… We’re going to stop it," the U.S. president added.
As a reminder, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio earlier stated that if American efforts to stop the war in Ukraine fail within a few days, President Trump will be told that negotiations are no longer a viable option.
