Security in Kyiv over Easter holidays will be ensured by reinforced police patrols – Shumeiko

On Easter, police patrols will be stationed near churches and other public gathering places in Kyiv. Their task will be to ensure public safety and maintain order.
This was announced on April 18 by the head of the Kyiv police, Dmytro Shumeiko, Censor.NET reports.
This year, Easter services in Kyiv will be held in 170 religious sites.
To ensure public order near churches, personnel from Kyiv police units, the National Guard, the State Emergency Service, cadets from the National Academy of Internal Affairs, members of volunteer formations, and representatives of public organizations will be deployed.
"As every year, Kyiv police will strengthen security measures during the Easter celebrations. All unit commanders and personnel are fully committed to carrying out their duties responsibly. A situation center has been set up at the Kyiv Police Headquarters to coordinate law enforcement actions, ensure rapid response, and analyze incoming information. We have sufficient forces and resources to maintain public order and prevent potential violations," Shumeiko said.
At the same time, Kyiv police are urging residents of the capital to comply with current legislation to ensure peaceful holiday celebrations and to avoid putting themselves and others at risk.
During Easter night, from April 19 to 20, no changes to the curfew in Kyiv are planned. Church services during the night will be held via online broadcasts.
