Decision on Taurus for Ukraine will be made by Merz - Bavarian Premier Söder

Söder about Taurus supply

The Prime Minister of Bavaria in Germany and the head of the Christian Social Union (CSU) party, Markus Söder, said that the decision on the possible sending of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine will be made by the future Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported by European Pravda with reference to n-tv.

"It will be up to the new chancellor to decide," Söder said.

He emphasized that the German air force has limited resources.

"However, first and foremost, we need as many Taurus for ourselves as possible," Söder said.

He called the Taurus missiles "the best weapon we have" and added that "even the Russians respect them."

As a reminder, Armin Papperger, CEO of the German defense concern Rheinmetall , recently said that German long-range Taurus missiles would not help Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. To influence the course of the war, Ukraine needs more artillery shells.
