On 16 September, the Ukrainian Defence Forces engaged in 183 combat clashes with Russian occupiers.
This is stated in a report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as reported by Censor.NET.
Russia's attacks on Ukraine
The enemy launched two missile strikes with two missiles and 74 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, dropping 118 guided bombs. In addition, they carried out 4,685 shellings, 73 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 6,206 kamikaze drones to attack.
The aggressor carried out air strikes, in particular on the areas of the settlements of Bilohiria, Zaliznychne, and Hryhorivka in the Zaporizhzhia region; and Odradokamianka in the Kherson region.
Defeating the enemy
Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defence Forces struck one area where Russian invaders had concentrated their personnel, two artillery systems and one UAV control point.
Hostilities
Nine combat engagements took place in the Northern Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions. The enemy carried out nine air strikes, dropped 18 guided bombs, and conducted 188 shelling attacks, including four from multiple launch rocket systems.
Yesterday, five combat engagements took place in the South Slobozhanskyi direction near Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, and Lyptsi.
Seven attacks by the occupiers took place in the Kupiansk direction over the past day. Defence forces repelled enemy assaults in the direction of Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, Borivska Andriivka, and Pishchane.
The enemy attacked 14 times in the Lyman direction. They attempted to advance towards the settlements of Shyikivka, Shandryholove, Stavky, and near Kolodiazi, Novomykhailivka, Hrekivka, Serednie, and Torske.
In the Siverskyi direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 23 enemy attacks over the past day. Occupying forces attempted to advance in the areas of Serebrianka, Hryhorivka, Fedorivka, and towards the settlements of Vyimka, Yampil, and Dronivka.
Five combat engagements were recorded in the Kramatorsk direction in the areas of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Chasiv Yar, and Stupochky.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out 17 attacks in the areas of Shcherbynivka, Katerynivka, Poltavka, Rusyn Yar, and towards Ivanopillia and Pleshchiivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 60 assault and offensive actions by the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Volodymyrivka, Vilne, Zolotyi Kolodiaz, Nykanorivka, Nove Shakhove, Shakhove, Myroliubivka, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Promin, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Dachne, and Novoukrainka.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the Defence Forces repelled 25 enemy attacks near the settlements of Filiia, Ivanivka, Olhivske, Oleksandrohrad, Maliivka, Sichneve, and Novoivanivka.
In the Huliaipillia direction, the Defence Forces successfully repelled two enemy attacks near Poltavka.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled one attack in the Kamianske area.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled two attacks by the occupiers.
