Traitor who served occupiers in captured colony in Kherson is sentenced to 15 years

Traitor sentenced to 15 years in prison

The Khadzhibei District Court of Odesa found a former employee of the Northern Penal Colony (No. 90) guilty of treason after he voluntarily defected to the enemy following the capture of the Kherson region.

This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigations, according to Censor.NET.

It was established that the ensign of the internal service had joined an illegal institution created by the occupiers on the basis of the colony. The colony operated under the Russian tricolor, and new employees had to take the oath of allegiance to the Russian Federation in order to get a job.

"During the occupation, the Russian repressive machine did not stop for a minute. Residents of the city were caught on the streets, imprisoned on false charges, and forced under threat of death to build fortifications for the invading army and perform other labor," the SBI said.

It is noted that after the liberation of Kherson, law enforcement officers of the State Bureau of Investigation exposed and detained the traitor. The court found him guilty of treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and sentenced him to 15 years in prison with full confiscation of property.
