Violation of Moldova's airspace
The Ministry of Defense of Moldova stated that it had received the information as a result of an exchange with partners in Ukraine and Romania. The ministry clarified that "the drone was not detected by airspace monitoring systems due to its low altitude."
According to the agency, the drone crossed Moldovan airspace between 03:22 and 03:35 from the Ukrainian village of Lisne to the Moldovan village of Seita, at an altitude of approximately 100 meters.
Moldova's Foreign Ministry summons Russian ambassador
In turn, the Moldovan Foreign Ministry announced that it was summoning the ambassador of the Russian Federation to Moldova, Oleg Ozerov, to whom a "strong protest" would be conveyed.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns the incident that occurred on the night of November 19, when a drone illegally violated the airspace of the Republic of Moldova from the village of Lisne (Ukraine) in the direction of the village of Seits," the statement said.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that such actions constitute a serious violation of national sovereignty and pose significant risks to the security of citizens and regional stability.
The ministry said it "once again calls on the Russian Federation to avoid any actions that threaten the security of the Republic of Moldova and to strictly respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country."
As previously reported, Romania scrambled fighter jets to monitor the air situation during Russia's massive strikes on Ukrainian regions.
