Ukraine now has its first certified schools for operators of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs).
This was reported by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, according to Censor.NET.
According to the report, seven private schools for operators of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) have received certificates from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. These are the first results of a reform aimed at opening the training market for GRS operators, initiated by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Defence.
Who received the certificates
The certificates were awarded to:
- SS KODAK TRAINING
- Sky Spies UA
- Kruk Center
- Dignitas Fund
- Boryviter Military School
- DOVZHYK Aerial Reconnaissance School
- Ghosts of Ukraine
Scaling up the use of UGVS on the battlefield
The Ministry of Defence emphasizes that GRS help save the lives of Ukrainian troops by performing the most dangerous missions in place of humans. These robots transport supplies along the line of contact, evacuate the wounded, conduct mining operations, and strike enemy positions.
"Private schools will now be able to issue operator certificates to their graduates. And by the end of this year, the state will fund training at certified schools for thousands of service members, enabling the wider use of UGV on the battlefield," the ministry added.
