Ukrainian defence-tech company Buntar Aerospace has raised $10.4 million in a new investment round. The lead investor was Axon Enterprise, Inc., a global leader in public safety technology.
The company told Censor.NET’s Drone Industry project that the round also included Norwegian investment consortium Munkene AS and other private investors.
As part of this funding round, Buntar and Axon are developing a strategic partnership aimed at commercial cooperation and technology integration.
The partnership is intended to expand access to ISR capabilities (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), which provide operational intelligence, enhance situational awareness, and help save lives in high-risk environments.
"The true effectiveness of ISR ultimately lies in protecting people," said Axon founder and CEO Rick Smith. "Buntar is building technologies that help operators gain information earlier, respond to threats faster and make more informed decisions in complex and risky situations."
Buntar Aerospace co-founder Bohdan Sas said that the company works together with units on the front line, so it has a strong understanding of how critical timely intelligence is in real operations.
"This funding will help us scale systems that give operators information as early as possible and help save lives at the most critical moments," he stressed.
"Our focus has always been on creating technologies that work effectively in demanding conditions and help teams operate with greater confidence," said Buntar Aerospace co-founder and CEO Ivan Kaunov. "Cooperation with Axon gives us the opportunity to combine Ukrainian combat experience with global expertise in security and software."
