The joint United States–Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund is investing in the Ukrainian startup Sine Engineering, which specializes in the development of dual-use technologies, specifically communication modules and other high-tech solutions for drones.
The investment amount is currently unknown; the deal is expected to be officially announced on Wednesday, Reuters reports.
According to the Kyiv Independent, officials from the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), a co-founder of the United States–Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund, visited this week.
Sine Engineering is a Lviv-based startup founded in 2022. It specializes in technologies that allow drones to operate without GPS and under conditions of heavy interference. The company also develops technologies for drone swarms. According to the company's website, Sine Engineering's developments are currently used by over 100 manufacturers.
Earlier, the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine stated that the United States–Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund received 138 investment applications during its first two months of operation. Twenty-two projects were selected for further processing, and 8 of them already show a high level of readiness, forming a portfolio with an estimated value of $1.2 billion.
About the Fund
The United States–Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund was established based on an agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the U.S. Government. The Fund's authorized capital was formed by contributions from both parties in equal shares — $75 million each from the U.S. through the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and from Ukraine.
As a reminder, on January 6, the Ministry of Economy, together with the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), announced the launch of an online portal for submitting investment projects to the United States–Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund (UURIF).
The portal's launch was the first practical step in implementing investments in 2026, following the confirmation of the Fund's full operational readiness in December. Companies and investors operating in the Fund's priority sectors and ready to attract financing can submit project proposals via the portal.
