France plans to draw on Ukraine’s experience in countering hybrid threats, particularly in the areas of cybersecurity and sabotage prevention.
This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.
The issue of cooperation was discussed during a meeting between Ukrainian and French police delegations held on 31 March. The parties focused on strengthening cooperation in the field of European security, combating organized crime, and countering Russian hybrid threats.
What the parties discussed
The Ukrainian delegation included National Police officials, in particular First Deputy Head Maksym Tsutskiridze and Criminal Police Chief Andrii Niebytov. The French side was represented by members of the French Gendarmerie and the diplomatic mission.
Tsutskiridze stressed that cooperation between the two countries has continued since the first days of the full-scale invasion and has already produced practical results. In particular, French forensic experts worked in Bucha and Irpin, documenting war crimes.
What threats are in focus
According to Niebytov, transnational crime is rising in wartime conditions, while digital platforms are increasingly being used for illegal activity.
This includes the sale of weapons and drugs, the exploitation of children, as well as recruitment for sabotage. Against this backdrop, the parties agreed to step up information sharing, including through Europol channels.
The meeting took place on the anniversary of the liberation of Bucha, one of the key episodes in documenting Russian war crimes. The Ukrainian side stressed its readiness to share practical experience in countering modern threats shaped by the war.
