Trump to declare end of war with Iran in address to nation - Politico

U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to announce that the war against Iran is coming to an end during his address to the American people on Wednesday, April 1.
This was reported by Politico citing sources, according to Censor.NET.
What is known?
Trump's address is expected to air during prime time, which will be 4 a.m. in Kyiv. According to the publication, the U.S. president has "laid the groundwork" for his speech in recent interviews, social media posts, and public statements.
He is expected to declare that all military objectives of the operation against Iran have been achieved, six informed sources told Politico. Trump will also accuse NATO of restricting shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, the publication reports.
"The president's decision to deliver a major speech on ending the war, which coincided with the arrival of an additional 2,500 U.S. Marines in the region, may primarily be an attempt to allay voters' fears and Wall Street's concerns regarding energy markets and the consequences of the strait's closure," notes Politico.
Steve Bannon, former White House chief strategist under Trump, said that the U.S. leader will outline what he has achieved in Iran and what he plans to do before the conflict ends.
The publication also notes that in his address, Trump will be able to outline the war’s objectives, what the U.S. considers a victory, and contingency plans in case ceasefire negotiations reach an impasse.
Meanwhile, CBS News, citing a White House official, reported that Trump will provide an update on the progress of Operation "Epic Rage." According to their report, the president will confirm that the operation will end "in two to three weeks," as he has previously stated publicly. The operation has been underway for 33 days.
