In the Kharkiv region, there are plans to significantly increase the number of private air defense units. Existing units have already shot down enemy drones.
According to Censor.NET, citing Ukrinform, this was announced by Oleh Synyehubov, head of the RMA.
"The project is currently operating in a pilot phase in the Kharkiv region, but we are already seeing results, including the first downed drones and other weapons. We will continue to develop this system, and it will expand significantly by the end of this year. Unfortunately, I cannot provide any further details," said Synyehubov.
He added that the Air Defense Forces managed to shoot down "suicide drones" near Kharkiv that were heading to strike critical infrastructure facilities, including Thermal Power Plant No. 5.
