Europe needs security guarantees from Ukraine — Estonian Foreign Minister

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna stated that Europe must take Ukraine’s wartime experience into account and needs security guarantees from it.

According to Censor.NET, this is mentioned in a post by the Estonian Foreign Minister in H.

Tsakhkna stated that the current phase represents a "historic moment" for making decisions regarding Ukraine's integration into the EU and NATO.

"NATO is not only saying that we must provide security guarantees to Ukraine, but also that our region needs security guarantees from Ukraine, since Ukraine is currently the largest, most effective, and most experienced military force in our region," the minister emphasized.

According to Tsakhkna, Ukraine’s membership in Euro-Atlantic structures will enhance security not only for the country itself but for the entire continent.

"That is why we must take a comprehensive view of this, because these 'gray zones,' neutral countries, or buffer zones—whatever we call them—are simply a green light for Putin to continue his aggression against Europe. So we must realize that this is also an opportunity for us: Ukraine is now fighting not only for itself and its freedom, but is also giving us time to establish a new European security architecture," the minister added.
