20 largest state companies to be audited: "They remain wet-nurse and foundation of corruption," PM says

Ukraine's Prime Minister Arsenii Yatseniuk has instructed to conduct an audit of financial and economic activities of the 20 largest state-owned companies.

The government head announced at the International anti-corruption conference "Preventing. Fighting. Acting" on Monday, Nov. 16, Censor.NET reports citing the governmental website.

According to the prime minister, state-owned enterprises "remain "a wet-nurse" and the foundation of corruption in the country.

"I have instructed to check the 20 largest state-owned companies, from NJSC Naftohaz Ukrainy and Enerhoatom to Elektrotiazhmash and Odesa Port Plant," Yatsenuik said.

According to the PM, new State Audit Service should start operating in order to efficiently check on the state companies' activities.
