Hroisman sees no threat to re-election in Kryvyi Rih

There is no threat to timely re-election in Kryvyi Rih.

Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Hroisman told Interfax-Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.
"I'm surprised by what some Samopomich faction MPs organized today. People's deputies should be aware of a rigid statutory provision which forbids me to sign the law on re-election in Kryvyi Rih if a registered resolution on the abolition of voting results is there. Moreover, I immediately informed Samopomich leader Oleh Bereziuk of this as his very faction introduced the bill," Hroisman said.
According to the speaker, he has repeatedly and publicly expressed his position and reiterates that "the resolution will be brought before the parliament during next plenary week immediately after the relevant committee comes up with a conclusion."

Hroisman assured he would immediately sign the adopted law as soon as MPs defeated the resolution. "Thus, it does not pose any threat to holding election as planned. Therefore, I see no reason to stage any actions," the speaker noted.
He also said he fully supported the position regarding the situation around Kryvyi Rih mayoral election.
"We have to give the residents of Kryvyi Rih a chance to decide themselves who they want to see as mayor. And I feel sorry for people who are used to force me into taking unlawful decisions. Moreover, such decisions will not contribute to solving this problem, on the contrary, they will lead to further postponements," Hroisman added.
