European Parliament backs visa-free regime with Ukraine, - resolution
The European Parliament called on EU institutions to proceed with the legislative procedure for putting Ukraine on the list of countries whose citizens will be enjoying a visa-free regime with the EU.
This is stated in today's EP resolution on the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, including deep and comprehensive free trade areas with Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova, Censor.NET reports referring to Ukrinform.According to the resolution, the European Parliament positively assesses the efforts by the Ukrainian leadership in the fulfillment of the action plan on visa liberalization and welcomes the publishing of a positive final report on the progress with the plan.
MEPs also expressed hope that the Ukrainian leadership will fulfill all obligations on combating corruption in the first quarter of 2016, while the European Council and the member states will proceed with the procedure of granting a visa-free regime to Ukraine and Georgia.
