PACE to prepare report on Nemtsov’s murder
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will prepare a special report on the murder of Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov.
Censor.NET reports citing Radio Svoboda.PACE members adopted the decision after speeches delivered to the Assembly by leader of People's Freedom Party (PARNAS) Mikhail Kasyanov, Nemtsov's family lawyer Vadim Prokhorov, daughter of the murdered politician Zhanna Nemtsova, as well as PARNAS member Olga Shorina and journalist Vladimir Kara-Murza. They called on PACE to monitor the investigation of the murder. They believe that the Russian law enforcement agencies do not make efforts sufficient to establish the actual masterminds and assassin's paymasters.
Boris Nemtsov was killed Feb. 27, 2015 in Moscow. Five natives of Chechnya have been apprehended under suspicion of involvement in the crime. The court sanctioned the arrest in absentia of alleged organizer of the crime, former officer of the Chechen Interior Ministry Sever battalion Ruslan Mukhudinov Nov. 18. The person, who ordered the hit, has not been established yet. However, Head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin declared that the case into politician's murder was solved.
