Poroshenko introduced visa-free bills package to Rada
President Petro Poroshenko has introduced a package of three pressing anti-corruption bills aimed at the implementation of criteria for attaining a visa-free regime with the European Union to the Verkhovna Rada.

In particular, draft law on amendments to the law of Ukraine on the prosecutor's office in terms of ensuring transparency in the organization of work of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office with a view to implementing the recommendations of the International Monetary Fund has been introduced. The bill is intended to improve the selection procedure of senior staff of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and enhances the guarantee of its independence and impartiality.
Draft law on amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine on the implementation of the recommendations of the sixth report of the European Commission on the implementation by Ukraine of the Visa Liberalization Action Plan, on the improvement of the foundations of Ukraine's National Asset Recovery Agency is aimed at full implementation of the EU Directive of April 3, 2014 No. 2014/42/EU on the arrest and confiscation of objects of criminal activity and the income derived from it.
Draft law of Ukraine on amendments to the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes of Ukraine regarding the implementation of the recommendations contained in the sixth report of the European Commission on the implementation by Ukraine of the Visa Liberalization Action Plan regarding the improvement of procedures of arrest of property and the institute of special forfeiture is aimed at improving the procedures for seizure of property and the institute of special confiscation, and bringing them in line with the best European standards and practices.
The adoption of these laws by the Verkhovna Rada as early as next plenary week will create necessary conditions for the soonest introduction by the European Commission of a legislative proposal on abolishing visas for Ukrainian citizens to the EU Council and the European Parliament.
