Parubii issues order to deprive deputies-truants of wages

Deputies' failure to attend Verkhovna Rada plenary sessions will be materially punished.

As reported by Censor.NET citing 112 Ukraine, it was announced by parliament's Speaker Andrii Parubii.

"I want to emphasize that according to the order, starting from the next plenary week, a failure to attend sessions will result in the loss of wages... If a deputy is out of the place at the time of registration, the salary for that day will not be entered on the payroll," he said.

"We must do everything possible to influence a small part of people's deputies who constantly fail to attend sessions. Both factions and the staff office have provided a list of MPs who attend sessions least of all. We'll have to speak with them and convince them, but I believe that the public and its pressure will play a big role in improving the deputies' efficiency," the speaker remarked.
