Russia's secret services tried to recruit Ukrainian diplomat in Moscow
The Security Service of Ukraine returned a Ukrainian diplomat who FSB had tried to recruit in Moscow.
As reported by Censor.NET referring to SBU's press center, the Russian secret service had involved the diplomat's military school fellow student who is a retired colonel of the Russian Armed Forces.The FSB pressured the officer trying to make him address the Ukrainian diplomat with a proposal for a confidential collaboration. In turn, the Russian secret service offered the diplomat to help tackle the issue of privatizing his property in temporarily annexed Crimea and facilitate the transportation of his family to Russia. In case of refusal, they threatened to create conditions for the mobilization of the diplomat's son and his further dispatch to the area of anti-terrorist operation. Upon checking, the SBU excluded such a possibility of the FSB.
After being briefed by the Ukrainian counterintelligence, the diplomat refused further contacts and talks on the proposed "cooperation."
The Security Service ensured the protection of the diplomat's family and arranged his return home.
