Russian diplomat attempted to bribe Ukrainian law enforcer, - SBU. PHOTOS+VIDEO
The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed an attempt by a diplomat of Russia's Consulate General in Kharkiv to bribe one of Ukrainian law enforcers.
Censor.NET reports referring to SBU press center."The Russian offered $400 for the issuance of driver's licenses in his name and the name of another representative of a foreign consular office.
"After being detained, the man introduced himself as a diplomat of the Consulate General of Russia in Kharkiv. He showed law enforcers his passport and an accreditation card.
"Considering foreigner's diplomatic immunity, he was released from the scene.
"The diplomat may be declared persona non grata.
"The SBU continues to oppose representatives of Russia's secret services in their attempt to corrupt the Ukrainian law enforcement authorities and use such situations to discredit state institutions," the report notes.
