Man opens fire in supermarket in Kyiv region after conflict with customers

In the village of Liutizh, Vyshhorod district, a 30-year-old man opened fire in a supermarket following a conflict with local residents. He fired two shots inside the store and another outside.

Returned to store with weapon
According to the investigation, the conflict between the man and local residents began inside the supermarket. The 30-year-old involved in the dispute then went to a Volkswagen belonging to his acquaintance and retrieved a weapon from it.
After returning to the store, the man fired twice into the floor. He then went outside and fired another shot, this time into the air.
Following the shooting, the man got into the Volkswagen, which was driven by his acquaintance, and left the scene.
Shooter detained
Criminal police officers located and detained the suspect. The man was placed in a temporary detention facility, while the weapon and other physical evidence were seized.
He was served with a notice of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – hooliganism involving the use of a firearm.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
