Corridor of opportunities to end war - by end of summer 2027, - Zelenskyy

The window of opportunity to end the war will last from the G20 summit until the end of summer 2027, as the U.S. presidential election begins shortly thereafter.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement during a meeting with journalists, according to Censor.NET, which cites RBC-Ukraine.
Corridor of Opportunities
"The window of opportunity to end the war extends from the G20 summit in the United States of America until the end of summer 2027, because that is when the U.S. presidential election begins. We believe that right now this is the most active phase in which diplomacy can lead to an end to the war. This is from the end of this year through the end of summer 2027," the president noted.
Putin wants the situation to escalate as much as possible
Zelenskyy noted that if the negotiators fail to reach an agreement before the U.S. elections, the reason will be quite clear.
"Putin wants to constantly demonstrate his strength; he doesn't want to engage in any dialogue; he wants maximum escalation. So that's roughly the impression we have. We're discussing this with the Europeans as well," the president added.
What led up to this?
- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine needs greater U.S. involvement in the peace process. Russian dictator Vladimir Putin does not want to end the war and may try to expand his aggression.
- At the same time, the day before, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin called the proposals currently being put forward regarding a settlement in Ukraine unacceptable to Russia. He stated that "Russia is ready for a dialogue on peace with Ukraine only on the basis of the realities on the ground."
