Lithuania wants to speed up the negotiations
According to Nausėda, during its Presidency of the Council of the EU, Lithuania will make every effort to begin opening the remaining negotiation chapters on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union as soon as possible.
The President of Lithuania noted that two of the six negotiation clusters have now been opened. He believes that it will not take long to open the remaining clusters.
"We will make full use of every opportunity to, first and foremost, move swiftly to open the remaining negotiation blocks. We have currently opened two out of six, and I believe that opening the remaining blocks is really not a matter of a great distance or a long time," said Nausėda, responding to a question from an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent.
- Gitanas Nausėda arrived in Kyiv on the morning of 23 August. Over the next two days, he will take part in events to mark Ukrainian Flag Day and Independence Day.
